Digital Marketing Assistant

Who we are: Bucks Country Gardens has been operating in Doylestown since 1961. We are a full service Lifestyle Garden Center and Landscape Design Build/Firm and a leader in our industry. Departments within the Garden Center include: Outdoor Furniture, Home Dècor, Boutique, Greenhouse, Garden Supply and Nursery. We have earned a reputation for friendly personal service, quality products, great selection and good value. We constantly strive to improve our business to create a true “destination” Garden Center. You can feel proud to be a member of this dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic service oriented team.

Who you are: You arean energetic and highly motivated career-minded person, with experience in social media and graphic design, interested in becoming an integral part of our Team. You want to promote our business and grow its visibility through various digital outlets including social media platforms and our website. Since you are the “big-picture” and “attention to detail” type, your responsibilities also include: creating print and digital collateral, social networking, press releases and organizing Garden Center events to accomplish our marketing goals. We are a small cross-functional team and because you possess the desire to learn and grow, you will wear many hats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Social Media: Create and implement dynamic digital content and manage daily postings on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest, etc.

• Email Blasts & Blog Postings: Design, produce and manage weekly email campaigns and write; post and assist others with weekly blogs.

• Event Planning: Develop, organize and manage all aspects of Garden Center events. Requires a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend hours.

• Website: Manage all aspects of our website and strategically communicate information through various web-based mediums.

• In-store Signs: Produce in-store signage based on pre-existing templates.

• Prepare and deliver press releases to media outlets to further the visibility of our company.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of industry tools including Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver; Experience with web content management software such as Joomla and WordPress, and email providers such as Constant Contact; Social Media platforms. Mac experience preferred.

• 1–3 years experience in design, copywriting and web management.

• Possess excellent writing, proofreading and organizational skills and have strong attention to detail.

• Able to work independently and be a team player.

We offer a generous benefits package including employer-funded health coverage, 401(k) with a company match, paid time off, garden center discount. This full-time position pays $15–$17 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Landscape Crew Leader

Responsible for the physical implementation of landscape work assigned by Landscape Division Manager or Designer. Will convey instructions to assigned crew members in order to complete landscape work in a timely and professional manner. May also be required to assist in retail activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install landscape work as designed and specified by the designer.

• Instruct, train and oversee the crew members to efficiently and professionally complete the assigned work.

• Be courteous to customers at all times and informative when applicable.

• Assume responsibility of all activities performed by self and landscape crew, and file complete daily reports with the Landscape Division Manager.

• Maintain organization and full inventory of company hand tools and locker assignment.

• Small hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, wire cutters and pruners will be the responsibly and personal possession of foremen.

• Perform retail deliveries, planting and material pickups, as requires.

• When available, assist unloading and processing of incoming plant material and dry goods.

• Installation of construction projects, show gardens and general improvements of the Bucks Country Gardens campus.

Qualifications: Two (2) years’ experience in the landscape industry, with one (1) year of landscape installation experience. Ability to work harmoniously with management, employees and customers while maintaining strong leadership skills. Broad knowledge of plant material and landscape construction. Strong organizational skills. Clean driving record.


Landscape Crew Member

Assist in the physical implementation of landscape work in in a timely and professional manner. May also be required to assist in retail activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in installation of landscape work as designed and specified by the designer.

• Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.

• Be courteous to customers at all times and informative when applicable.

• Assists the Crew Leader with route and job organization, ensuring that sufficient resources and materials are available.

• When available, assist unloading and processing of incoming plant material and dry goods.

• Installation of construction projects, show gardens and general improvements of the Bucks Country Gardens campus.

Qualifications: Ability to work harmoniously with management, employees and customers. Broad knowledge of plant material and landscape construction.


Cashier

The Cashier is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Customer Service Supervisor. The Cashier is responsible to see that all customers are provided with the best customer service available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers in the garden center and handle transactions in a pleasant and timely manner.

• Maintain knowledge of current promotions and sales, and also have the ability to explain sales and discounts.

• Accurately and promptly enter sales at the checkout point, and ensure that the correct change and receipt is given to the customer. Responsible for all moneys in his/her drawer; including but not limited to: cash, coupons, checks and charges.

• Look up merchandise sku’s, price checks and customer purchase history, as needed. Properly operate and maintain store equipment (register and scanner.)

• Prepare customer charges as required. Ensure that merchandise is properly packaged for safe transport.

• Assist other cashiers when there are no customers at own register.

• Ensure that all return items are re-stickered and restocked in appropriate departments.

• Keep working area clean and stocked, and also perform other custodial tasks as required (empty trash.)

• Perform other appropriate duties as directed by Management.

Qualifications: No prior experience required. Training will be provided.


Dry Goods Assistant

To assist in the daily and seasonal operations of the Dry Goods Department

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with fish and pond sales, including pond water testing.

• Accurately and efficiently enter Dry Goods purchase orders and receiving information.

• Serves as an active salesperson and merchandiser in Dry Goods.

• Stock and/or create stocking list for soil, Espoma, end caps, pharmacy, etc.

• Perform cycle counts.

• Communicates effectively with Hard Goods Manager and Garden Center Manager on a regular basis.

• Serves as an integral part of the Bucks Country Gardens team.

Qualifications: Must have earned a high school diploma and completion of at least two years of further education desired.


Green Team Crew Member

Assist in the physical implementation of greenhouse and nursery work in in a timely and professional manner. May also be required to assist in landscape activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unload greenhouse and nursery product from delivery trucks and process plant material for retail sale and/or landscape use.

• Maintain the health of all greenhouse and nursery product.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.

• Be courteous to customers at all times and informative when applicable.

• Installation of construction projects, show gardens and general improvements of the Bucks Country Gardens campus.

Qualifications: Ability to work harmoniously with management, employees and customers. Broad knowledge of plant material


Warehouse Assistant

To protect the Company’s investments in facilities, equipment and inventory while delivering a high level of service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with shipping (loading)/receiving procedures.

• Maintain organization of the warehouse.

• Assist with property and vehicle maintenance.

• Support all department managers as needed.

Qualifications: Must a strong sense of customer service and comfortable lifting 50 pounds.


Lifestyle Sales

Applicants will be expected to deal with our vendors, customers and co-workers in a mature, professional and businesslike manner while providing exceptional service levels. Considered applicants will be flexible with work hours which will include weekend days and evening hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sales and customer service support in Casual Furniture, Gift and Christmas categories.

• Assist manager and team members with merchandising in all 3 categories.

• Assist in casual furniture special orders including all correspondence between the company, the customer and the vendor

• Provide training support for Lifestyles staff.

Qualifications: A minimum of 3-5 years in sales and marketing in an upscale retail organization are required. Qualified applicants will be capable of creative merchandising and effective sales techniques. Structured sales training will be considered a plus.
